Freya is our local maker of magic and mischief. Yes, it is true that she could cast a spell which would improve your life, but this isn’t Freya’s idea of fun. No, this Witch would much rather sneak up and hit you with a curse that will make your tongue grow until it drags across the floor; or turn that flight of stairs you are climbing into a greasy metal slide; or make your skin as sticky as glue and then conjure up a sandstorm, and because of this behaviour all the other Dungeon creatures keep well away.
But it can be hard to stay away from someone who lives so close to where you work, and Freya lives in Crows Nest Cottage. That’s right, the cottage on the tower just outside the castle walls.
There is a rumour that Freya gets her magical powers from a meal called the Soupy Squall. Once a week without fail, Freya will fill her cauldron with all the necessary ingredients and will devour the lot in one sitting. Just in case you would like to try the Soupy Squall for yourself, it is made from the aromatic combination of prunes, cauliflower, beans, hard boiled eggs, cabbage, vegetable stock and a pinch of ginger, all boiled for at least three hours.
I’ve never visited Crows Nest Cottage but I understand that when it comes to cleaning day you can hear Freya complaining for miles around and for days after this her magical mischief gets even worse. She simply despises cleaning her cottage, and so for the good of everyone I hope she finds someone to help with her chores.
